I’ve had my Encore wheels for my gravel bike over six months now and I could not be more pleased with the performance and ride quality. I live in Eastern Michigan north of AA, and the dirt roads are abundant, pick your pleasure. For my most common 40-mile loop, the Encore full carbon wheel soaks up the washboard sections with compliance and fantastic tracking. At the end of the ride, I get off my bike feeling fresh, not beat -up. In addition, having the center lock rotor mounting system is a great performance benefit along with being disc brake compatible – it’s the full package! If you’re a gravel grinder, you’ve got to pick up a set of the new Encore Wheels!

An amazing 2016 triathlon race year, thanks to ENCORE race wheels! I recorded PR bike splits, on both flat and hilly courses; placing 1st in my age group in a TN 70.3, and 5th age grouper at Ironman AZ. As a lighter weight athlete, I was concerned about the wheels being a slight bit heavier than my other race wheels. I’m pleased to report that ENCORE wheels increase stability and performance in windy conditions, on curvy roads, and fast downhills. The ENCORE cassette performed exceptionally well, making shifting smooth and efficient on the hills. I stand and shift a lot, so the cassette was definitely put to the test. Being stronger and more durable than regular race wheels, I love the fact that I can train and race on ENCORE race wheels; no need to switch them out and they can be shipped with Tri Bike Transport, unlike the disc race wheel. For those “Matchy” triathletes, I love the fact that ENCORE has a custom decal program. My wheels match my bike. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this option.

This past season I had the opportunity to train and race on a set of Encore wheels. The first impression is the wheels are quite sturdy and impressive looking. On the road, the wheels seem to absorb a lot of road vibration. At higher speeds, the wheels feel solid, especially in turns and ride super quiet. As I mentioned they are durable and built to last. A nice feature is the brake surface. They are built with a typical brake surface, there is no need to change brake pads. I trained and raced on these wheels. I set my bike PR at the IM Ohio 70.3 on them in 2016. I also raced them at IM Cozumel in 2016. If you are you are looking for a high performing wheelset with an effective price point, I encourage you to consider Encore wheels.
